Her boldest journey in climbing was finally living as her true self.
Jamie Logan and Mugs Stump’s 1978 first ascent of the daunting Emperor Face of Mount Robson (VI 5.9 A2 2500m) is widely regarded as one of the greatest ascents in alpine climbing. At one point, Jamie spent hours on lead, questing into the unknown, scraping up a fearsome runout corner with rudimentary ice-climbing gear, and freeing one of the hardest pitches ever led in the mountains at that time.
Decades later, at age 69, Jamie faced an even greater unknown: What would it mean to her wife, children, friends, community—and, most importantly, herself—if she finally broke free from the secret she’d been carrying her whole life, and started living as herself?
“Jamie” is a new short film with a powerful message that life can be richer when you let love and trust guide you.
