These titles will keep you engaged for hours, and the best part is you won’t have to spend a dime on them.

There’s no question that many of you have been anticipating our weekly freebie round-up. And even if you haven’t, you’re in the right spot if you’re searching for something to play this weekend. Ready to dive in? Without further ado, let’s get started!

Free games to keep (PC)

This time, there aren’t many titles you can keep permanently, but the ones that are available offer a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. You can take on the role of a tiny mouse, helping locals in The Spirit and the Mouse, or go on an adventure in Hero of the Kingdom: The Lost Tales 2, another installment in this casual RPG series.

Free to play for the weekend (PC, Xbox)

Steam users can enjoy two games at no cost for a limited time. This weekend’s offerings include Squad, a sniper game, and Cross Blitz, an early-access roguelite.

Game Pass Core/Standard/Ultimate subscribers can try out three titles as part of Xbox Free Play Days, featuring a special treat for anime fans: Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections.

Free with subscription (PC, Xbox, PlayStation)

Game Pass has added plenty of new games this week! With five titles spanning various genres, there’s definitely something for everyone. Strategy enthusiasts should give Ara: History Untold a shot, while those looking for a fun co-op experience might enjoy All You Need is Help.

Meanwhile, PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium subscribers can dive into one of the most visually stunning survival horror games on PS5: The Last of Us Part I. If you haven’t experienced Joel and Ellie’s journey yet, now’s the perfect time to catch up!

Free tests (PC)

The closed alpha test for the upcoming anime battle royale, Fate Trigger: The Novita, kicked off this week! The playtest runs until September 30, 2024, so you still have time to request access and jump into the action.

Free demos (PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo)

There are two free demos available that JRPG fans won’t want to miss! You can try Metaphor: ReFantazio, an upcoming ATLUS title, or test Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, a remake of the 1993 non-linear RPG.
