Plus, the game will be on Steam from day one, and future preorders will receive a free DLC.
Tough times at Ubisoft. After opting out of Tokyo Game Show 2024, the company has announced a delay of the Assassin’s Creed Shadows release date. Initially scheduled for November 15, the game is now set to launch in early 2025, and it will be available on Steam on the very same day. Wait a minute… Steam?
What is the new Assassin’s Creed Shadows release date?
The Assassin’s Creed Shadows release date has been postponed to February 14, 2025. The delay is due to the need to “polish and refine the experience,” which is considered a “dream project” by the development teams.
Furthermore, PC players will be able to explore Feudal Japan on Valve’s platform from the get-go. Usually, it takes a couple months for Ubisoft’s games to escape the exclusivity of the company’s store, but this time, we will be able to play Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Steam at launch.
The statement posted on Ubi’s Twitter confirms that existing preorders will be refunded, and those who preorder Assassin’s Creed Shadows in the future will receive the game’s first expansion for free.
