This week in RTAA, we have a compilation of some of Gavin’s weird phrasing when trying to pose academic questions and …

Did he seriously ask if you hear through your head?
Gavin is actually right in the end. At some point or another, human beings figured out that there was something about certain parts of the body that caused death or severe damage when those parts were injured. Even before any form of medical science existed, people figured that out.
Considering how in ancient Egypt they believed the heart acted as the brain, I think the knowledge of what the brain did varied around the world
At this point, I’m convinced Gavin is both the philosopher and main comic relief of the company, he just sometimes mixes both of those roles together.
For a while people thought the heart controlled consciousness and the brain was just kinda there
Wow I didn’t realize how much I missed that old intro music.
you know, the one about hearing through your head is kinda true. Im from Australia and I remember I went to a shop like a technology shop called JB-Hi-Fi and I was just snooping around seeing all the things they got. And I saw these sunglasses that acted as headphones and you put them on and it sounds like you have earphones in and I was blown away at how clear it was because the volume was coming like just above the cheekbone and in level with your eyes just before hitting you ears so I mean Gavin was right
I mean the first one is him trying to explain that even if you used all the material on earth it would never fill up space, which i guess is a valid point but awful presentation
I relate to Gavin so much
Karl Pilkington Mark II
Thats a valid question though. Who figured out the brain is in the head?
Gavin was absolutely right when he said space gravity is different from planet gravity. Planet being earth at 1G. If we settled on larger asteroids in the belt like Ceres, we would make the asteroid spin to produce gravity, but it wouldn’t be able to generate 1 G of force so it would be microgravity
A large amount of anatomy was discovered by basically "mad scientist" types of the era. Our medicine wouldn't be where it is today if curious doctor's didn't dig up corpses illegally and experiment/do autopsies.
The funniest thing is I know what Gavin means and I speak the same way as him
Just as good as when I first saw this one
Oh my GOSH all these years later I finally realized he meant that any amount of debris Earth can create is an insignificant spec compared to the vastness of space. Huh, good point, Gavvy Boi. Good, poorly worded point lol
Thing is?… He's right about all of this
I kinda feel bad for Gavin
The ancient Egyptians didn't know what the brain was for, they thought that the soul was in the heart. Not a bad question really. :0
You know it's just because he's trying to figure out how to dumb it down so that everyone else can understand him 😉
This is why no one believed him about Pubert.
1:10 what did drunk Burnie do? Where did he get a brain from?
The last one is pretty Much a question on where is consciousness contained. It's acrually a legit question people would of asked back then
Gavin Free and Karl Pilkington have a lot in common, I've realized.
Very Interesting
Gavin: Can you hear through your head?
Well Gavin, if you're talking about dreaming, then yes, you can. What happens is that you're brain creates a simulation in you're mind when you sleep, and that simulation can create sounds of which you can hear.
-An Australian.
Yes, you can hear through your skull. It vibrates through your skull and flesh till it reaches the ear drum. Hence why you sound different when you listen to a recording of yourself.
Oh Gavin
Gavin actually isn’t wrong, there is gravity in space.
The brain thing is a really good question though.
Throughout a lot of ancient cultures (such as Roman) warriors ate the brains of their enemy to gain their knowledge.
How tf did they know that's where knowledge is stored?
A couple of months ago I said “your not insane if you don’t talk to sock puppets.”
Thank you Dr Free
Gavin's questions are legit and worthwhile, it's just the issue that he explains them in the most convoluted and nonsensical manner that no one gets what's he's on about…
