Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 was released about a year ago, and its initial state left much to be desired (and that’s putting it lightly). Fortunately, we finally got an update that significantly upped the quality of the product. The most important changes include improved controls and the introduction of new rendering options, resulting in sharper, more expressive visuals. The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 patch has just launched on Steam, but it will also appear on consoles in the future.

Each of the three games received some improvements, but the majority of new features were introduced in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
A new resolution setting has been added to the options menu of these two games, offering three modes: original, adjusted, and custom. The first one preserves the game’s original resolution, while the adjusted mode scales it to FHD, WQHD, or 4K (from FHD), depending on the monitor’s capabilities. As a reference, we started from 720p on the release day. Some cutscenes are also displayed in higher resolution.
Additionally, the games now feature improved controls, including the ability to adjust mouse sensitivity. Support for Steam cards was also added a couple days ago.
