RT Podcast: Ep. 222

Anyone else watching this in 2024? This is my childhood. I swear this show literally raised me. Spent many many many nights listening to these guys.

So sad to see one of the ancient podcasts come up in the algorithm now…but its INSANE they're talking about a PS3 show at E3…the PS5 is years old now! Absolutely bonkers

Starbucks sizes make no sense. I mean, venti does because it means 20 in Italian and it's a 20 ounce coffee, sure. And I'm assuming a trenta would be 30 ounces. But then why would the other two sizes not be named after the number of ounces? And why would you call a small "tall," which is literally the opposite, and a medium "grande," which is "large" in Italian (and Spanish). So when you order a grande cappuccino, you're literally saying "large cappuccino," but you're ordering a medium… And you say, "I want a tall latte," but it's the shortest cup they have. Like…why?! "Let's name our sizes something other than small, medium, and large to be unique." "Great idea! How about for small, we use a word that means large, for medium we use a word that means large, and for large, we use a word that means 20… because it's 20 oz., get it? But it'll be the only one named with a number like that." At least it's not as bad as Coldstone Creamery, where you have to order a "Like It," a "Love It," or a "Gotta Have It."

I go back to this podcast often as there is just something so special about it. Def. my favorite of the post audio podcast era.
